Last year, I entered a local design contest and won! To be honest, this was not a collaboration I ever wanted, but here I am trying to make the best of it. I only say this because to participate you had to be a current cancer patient.
In early 2023, just before I turned 41, I was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer. Treatment included a bilateral mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiation, and two reconstruction surgeries.
This t-shirt design contest popped up while I was undergoing radiation. Throughout treatment, I had been struggling to be creative, but this was just what I needed. It inspired me to get back to drawing and moving forward, I hope to continue to make art that can inspire others.
